End of Season, End of Game Engine

OK - Season 20 has now been completed and I have uploaded all the results so you can see who has been promoted and relegated. I send my usual congratulations to the league and cup winners.

As you probably know, this was the last season with the game engine as you know it, providing nothing goes wrong with my upgrade that is!

As this changeover is bigger than usual I will need more time to change the season over. I may be able to do it just on Monday evening as usual but I am going to evaluate it over the weekend. I may start the update on Sunday afternoon/evening which means you won't then be able to sign into the site until I have finished.

You can say good bye to the current youth academy, scouting, training and team selection pages as new versions will be appearing for the new season. The new system should all be self explanatory but I have/will be updating the rules for the new season.

There will still be some left over data links from the old system for a while but they will disappear over the next few weeks as I get more confident the new game engine is implemented OK. There may also be some conflicts of data that I forget to changeover as I need to remove everything from looking at the player rating value and this is a big job. If there is anything I forget, I will make corrections fairly to all managers.

Hopefully in a few weeks the new system will be well and truly up and running and then I can have a break before implementing even more features, of which I have plenty.

Personally, I can't wait to get rid of some poor database structure and code that was designed for the old game engine but that's probably admitting being a geek :-)
