Mobile friendly

I know I should be implementing player contracts (which is on my list of jobs to do soon I promise) but that task has been trumped thanks to Google starting to rank mobile friendly sites higher within a couple of weeks (21st April I think).

Also, the current layout was designed quite a while ago before mobile devices really came to the fore like they are today and I'm guessing most current managers would be happier if I made the site work better on their devices as last month almost 50% of the traffic was from such devices.

So, I have been working on the site in the background (probably surprising to most of you) and wanted to give a brief update.

As an aside, I'm also going to retire the Development Blog and start using the Google+ account to give updates - just so I have 1 less thing to manage. I know I could modify this site to handle the screenshots I post and add comments from managers but I feel keeping development chat separate to main news postings on this site is not a bad thing. I will try and post the individual post links onto the Facebook page (my memory permitting) but if anybody knows of a free way of automating this then drop me a message.

Anyway, my plan is to try and get the structure of the site to be mobile friendly as soon as possible. That basically means the outer shell - headers, footers, menus etc. Then I plan to move the content as it is currently into the body of the new structure. This should mean the site works better on mobiles for the most part but I'll still have to revisit each individual page to improve them for the way they flow on small screens. When I get to this stage, you'll see what I mean.

I have put a couple of screenshots on the Google+ page so you can get the feel for it and make any comments but, as usual, it may not be a speedy piece of work. I'm just progressing it when I can.
