European Champions!

After missing out on the big prize last season, Reggina finally have their hands on the Mystify European cup.

They gave themselves a challenge though and started off the game as though they were still on the team bus. 2 early goals for AFC Ajax made it look very promising for the European cup debutants before Reginna got their act together and attempted to claw their way back. Their response eventually came with 2 goals in 2 minutes towards the end of the first half and in a half of very few chances, clinical finishing by both sides gave the game a more entertaining scoreline at the break than it actually was.

In contrast, the 2nd half was a much more lively affair and it was end to end the whole way through. The game was only spoiled by a nasty looking injury to goalkeeper Stefano Casale whom was stood on accidentally during a goal mouth scramble. From the resulting corner, Jorge Vinagre was found guilty of pulling the shirt of Peter O'Sullivan and Reginna were awarded a penalty which Quentin Jacobs slotted past replacement goalkeeper Bjorn De Wilde.

Despite a great chance for Sébastien Milhau to equalise with ten minutes left, Reginna managed to hold on to their lead and make up for last seasons failure at this stage to take the cup back to Italy.

Reginna have already qualified for the tournament next season so will be able to defend their trophy.
